// CONTEXT
Kōra Omakase emerges as a contemporary interpretation of the Japanese dining experience, where architecture and ritual merge into a sensory narrative. Inspired by the concept of kōra — the shell that protects and reveals what is essential — the project proposes an introspective and precise environment, where light, materiality, and silence shape an atmosphere of contemplation. Located in Campinas, the space explores the synthesis between Eastern tradition and Brazilian sensibility, creating a setting that places the chef’s gesture at the center of the experience.
CHALLENGE
The main challenge was to create a distinctive visual identity for a Japanese restaurant, avoiding literal references and exploring a conceptual approach capable of conveying sophistication and singularity. The project sought to balance minimalism with material presence, shaping an environment that enhances the omakase experience without formal excess. The proposal required precise control of light and composition, ensuring that each element contributes to a cohesive and immersive atmosphere.

Kōra Omakase establishes a distinctive identity by combining Eastern references with a contemporary Brazilian approach, resulting in a space that communicates sophistication through simplicity and intention.
