// CONTEXT
Located between the Saudi Arabian desert and the Red Sea, Jeddah Mall is envisioned as a contemporary destination where tradition and innovation converge.
CHALLENGE
The project reinterprets the Brazilian cobogó through the lens of the Arabic mashrabiya, creating a permeable facade that filters the desert light while casting ever-changing patterns of shadow throughout the day.
VISUAL APPROACH
The project reinterprets the Brazilian cobogó through the lens of the Arabic mashrabiya, creating a permeable facade that filters the desert light while casting ever-changing patterns of shadow throughout the day.
OUTCOME
We found the strongest expression of the project in closer, more intimate frames, where we were able to capture its true essence: the cobogó. These views allowed us to highlight its geometry, texture, and the way it interacts with light and shadow.
